We have seen an activity increase around Maryland from Patent Trolls sending out letters of intent to sue or settle for claims that your Copier MFP, Desktop Scanner, anything you use to scan to email based on "REAL" US Patents......... US Patent 6771381 / US Patent 7477410 / US Patent 7986426 . A.K.A Project Paperless. |
Why
are they coming after you? Let face it would you want to fight the deep
pockets of the likes of Canon, Konica-Minolta, Ricoh, and all the others? So,
instead of making the scanner itself the issue, Project Paperless LLC claim it
is the scanner + the network + the email system which if your using scan
to email your "Liable" BUT WAIT! Very little of the patent actually makes
any sense, it seems to spend lots of words on the scanner functionality
and not much at all on the network need for scan to email functionally. |
We want you to be educated so if this happens to you that there are resources available
